Little Dude Ranch is a family-friendly facility in Williamson, NY, offering pony ride parties, horseback riding lessons, and summer horse camps for children ages 6-9. With over 25 years of experience, the ranch provides a welcoming environment for young riders to learn and have fun.

What types of pony ride parties do you offer? 

We offer both on-site and traveling pony ride parties. Our indoor, heated facility allows for year-round celebrations, complete with a party room, kitchenette, and restrooms. 

What are the party packages and pricing? 

– On-site Party: $350 for a 2-hour party with 3 ponies, suitable for up to 12 children ($10 per additional child). 
– Traveling Party: $350 per hour (within the local Rochester area), plus travel fees, including 1 to 3 ponies. 

When are parties available? 

Parties are typically held on Saturdays and Sundays during the following time slots: 
– 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM 
– 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM 
– 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

What ages are eligible for riding lessons? 

We offer group horseback riding lessons for children ages 2–11. 

What is the structure of the lessons? 

Lessons focus on horsemanship, riding skills, and horse safety. Classes are held year-round, with indoor facilities available during winter. Class sizes are small (up to 3 children), and parental assistance is required for beginners. 

What are the lesson fees? 

– Block of 4 Lessons: $120 (must be used within 30 days). 
– Introductory/One-Time Lesson: $35. 
Payment is required prior to each new block to hold your spot. 

Do you offer any special classes? 

Yes, we offer the ‘Romper Room Riding Class’ for toddlers and preschoolers in mornings from 11:00 AM to noon. This class focuses on balance, riding games, and basic skills, with parent participation required. 

What is the age range for horse camp participants? 

Our summer horse camp is designed for children ages 6–9. 

When is the horse camp held? 

Camps are held during the last three weeks of July and the first three weeks of August, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. 

What is the cost of the horse camp? 

The cost is $350 per week. 

What activities are included in the camp? 

Camp activities include riding lessons, pony care, crafts, and a ‘Show & Tell’ session on Fridays where campers can showcase their skills to friends and family. 

Can you tell me about the horses at Little Dude Ranch? 

Certainly! Our ponies and horses are friendly and well-trained, each with unique personalities: 
– Indy: Loves to play ‘catch me if you can’ before lessons. 
– Buddy: Known as ‘bouncy Buddy’ for his lively gait. 
– Rocky: Buddy’s older brother, prefers a relaxed pace. 
– Osa: A retired racehorse with a spirited heart. 
– Lilly: Patient and forgiving, great for beginners. 
– Casper: Energetic and enjoys trotting. 
– Stormy: Our largest pony, ideal for learning to canter. 
– Chevy: Stormy’s younger brother, affectionate and playful. 
– Sheba: The youngest, full of energy and charm. 
– Bailey: An ‘Indian princess’ pony with distinctive features. 
– Tara: The gentle founder of LDR, now semi-retired. 
– Alex: Tara’s son, strong and reliable. 

Do you provide helmets and safety gear? 

Yes, we provide helmets for all riders. We prioritize safety and ensure all equipment meets the necessary standards. 

What should my child wear for lessons or camp? 

Children should wear long pants and closed-toe shoes with a small heel (preferably boots). Avoid sandals or sneakers, as they are not suitable for riding.
